Curse of Varekova Strikes Nedved Again!

The New York Rangers released center Petr Nedved on Friday ending his comeback bid. In 2004 the Edmonton Oilers traded for Nedved in a late season pickup, on a line with dynamic Ales Hemsky, Nedved flourished scoring 15 points in 16 games. After the season, GM Kevin Lowe offered a very generous contract but Nedved declined citing his girlfriend at the time Veronika Varekova didn’t want to be in Edmonton. Well since then Nedved has bounced around several teams and he and Varekova have divorced.
